Sai Baba Photo

Shri Hemadpant got Shri Sai Baba's blessings in 1910 to write this work. Said Shri Sai Baba "Let him make a collection of stories and experiences, keep notes and memos; I will help him. He is only an outward instrument." Subsequently SaiSatcharitra has been translated into a number of different languages. The one in English is called Shri Sai Satcharitra by Shri Nagesh Vasudev Gunaji. The following is a very short summary on the life of Shri Sai Baba to serve as an introduction. We recommend that you read one of the more authoritative books to really understand the life and teachings of Shri Sai Baba.Chandbhai, the headman of a village called Dhoopkhede (in Aurangabad, India), once lost his horse and was looking for it. Suddenly he heard a voice say "You look tired. Come here and rest a while". He turned around and saw a young Fakir (Baba). The fakir smiled at him and said "What are you looking for in this jungle, Chandbhai". This surprised Chandbhai and he wondered how the fakir knew his name.

Sai Baba Samadhi

The 15th October 1918 was a sorrowful and fateful day for the little village of Shirdi, for in the heavy hours of the noon, the beloved master suddenly breathed his last. Quietly and unobrusively, Baba gave up his body and let his head fall gently on the shoulders of a near disciple. The great "Avtar's" glorious period of Messiahship, his self allotted labour of love, came to an abrupt end. All the magic light seemed to have died out that erestwhile had given to thousands of seekers courage and hope and inspiration. Shri Sai Baba is revered as one of the greatest saints ever seen in India, endowed with unprecedented powers, and is worshipped as a God incarnate. Shri Saibaba Sansthan, Shirdi, is the Governing and Administrative body of Shri Saibaba's Samadhi Temple and all others temples in this premises, and devoted towards development of Shirdi village.

Sai Baba Sansthan

Sai Baba of Shirdi or Shirdi Sai Baba was an Indian guru and fakir, who is regarded by his Hindu and Muslim followers as a saint. Some of his Hindu followers believe that He was an Avatar of Shiva, Duttatraya and the next incarnation of Kabir. In his life and teachings He tried to embrace and reconcile both faiths: Shri Sai Baba Sansthan, Shirdi was established in the year 1922 to carry out the noble service of Shri Sai Baba. From the year 1922 to August of 1989 the establishment staff provided various facilities for the devotees. On May 4, 1990 Bhoomi Pujan of 'Sai Baba Bhakta Niwas' was performed. A building to accommodate 3500 devotees, having 560 self-contained rooms and two spacious halls has been constructed.Sai Baba used to cure many diseases. Shri Sai Baba Sansthan, Shirdi built a 'Shri Sainath' Hospital to continue to provide service to patients. Sai Baba Darshan

Having a Darshan or a look at Shri Saibaba, when in Shirdi is heavenly in itself. The sheer calmness and serenity that peeps through the white marble statue of this saint hypnotizes you and initiates you into a mystical and spiritual journey that imparts a new meaning to your existence. With thousands of devotees that queue up to have a look at this heavenly visage, the timings for Darshan are fixed by the Sai temple authorities. You must get acquainted with this before you go for a darshan of Shri Sai Baba. Samadhi Temple that houses the statue of Shri Saibaba opens for public Darshan at 5am, when the temple opens. You need to be there well before 4am since a long queue is already there for a moment's glance of Sai Baba. It is the time when a melodious prayer is played on audio cassette. Exactly at 5.15am begins as a request to Lord Sai to wake up and give His merciful glances to His devotees. Long time ago, at the beginning of eighteenth century a young bearded man with sparkling eyes took shelter in a mosque, in Shirdi Village (of Maharshtra State, In India) . Nobody knew from where this stranger had come who hardly spoke a word and stayed there.
